Praying mantis and canibalism

This lovely insect was these days near my bed.

Of course I did not miss the chance to make a photo of it.

It is amazing that the female eats the male alive after

mating, always starting from the head.

Dieses liebe Insekt war diese Tage in der Nähe meines Bettes.

Natürlich habe ich nicht versäumt, es zu fotografieren.

Dazu muss ich noch bemerken, dass das Weibchen nach der

Befruchtung das Männchen lebend auffrisst.

Immer schön vom Kopf beginnend…

Αυτό το υπέροχο έντομο ήταν αυτές τις μέρες κοντά στο κρεβάτι μου.
Φυσικά δεν έχω αμελήσει να το φωτογραφίσω.
Το περίεργο είναι, ότι το θηλυκό μετά την
γονιμοποίηση τρώει το αρσενικό ζωντανό.
 Πάντα ξεκινώντας από την κεφαλή.
