Yes it is the mother and the little dog was trying to eat... but too many cars on that little road. The people rushing to eat as well!! It was sunday.....

Kevin Carter (1960 – 1994).
Carter came under heavy criticism for his Pulitzer Prize photograph
of the little girl in Sudan.
He committed suicide in 1994.
Carter’s suicide note:
“I am depressed … without phone… money for rent…
money for child support… money for all debts!!!
I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses
and anger and pain…
of starving or wounded children,
of trigger-happy madmen, often police,
of trigger executioners…”
